Aurora Downtown kicks off First Fridays event this week

Aurora's First Fridays event returns to the city's downtown this week with venues offering art, music, food trucks and other activities.

Aurora Downtown, the organizer and sponsor, is continuing to re-imagine the community gatherings to prioritize safety during the COVID-19 pandemic, officials said. The 2021 season kicks off Friday and continues the first Friday of every month through December, with the exception of July.

Rather than hosting an annual food truck festival in May, Aurora Downtown is bringing in food trucks at Water Street Square every First Friday of the year.
