Authorities search for man reported missing in Indiana river

DELPHI, Ind. (AP) - Authorities say they're searching for a man reported missing in the Tippecanoe River in northern Indiana.

The Department of Natural Resources says conservation officers responded Sunday to reports that a man was calling for help in the river in Carroll County. They reported that he was floating downriver amid a swift current and disappeared below the surface.

Crews searched for the man along the shoreline and using boats. The DNR says conservation officers will be looking for him on upcoming patrols.

The identity of the missing man wasn't immediately released. The river has been high following recent rains and authorities are urging caution.
