Grayslake Central 10, Montour (Pa.): Junior right hander Coby Moe tossed a 1-hitter with 8 strikeouts as Grayslake Central opened up play at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando with a 10-0 victory over Montour, a suburban high school out of Pittsburgh. Moe needed only 52 pitches as the Rams pushed across a run in the bottom of the 6th inning to complete the victory. Moe actually doubled helping his own cause with 1 out in the bottom of the 6th. Courtesy runner Joey Webster scored the final run on a passed ball and throwing error in left field.
The Rams had 8 hits on the evening to go along with 7 walks. Clay Stoffel had a pair of hits and 3 RBI while Nic Presutti tripled, singled and scored 2 runs and Benton Troehler added a pair of singles as the Rams improved to 2-0 on the season.
Grayslake Central also defeated Tenafly from New Jersey, 5-3.
Glayton Bloemke and Ethan Peterson each had 2 hits for the Rams.
Stevenson 16, Vineland 0: Stevenson pounded out 10 hits and rolled up 16 runs in defeating Vineland in Vero Beach, Fla.
Matthew Dutler led the Patriots with 3 hits while Josh Snider and Caleb Evans each had 2 hits.
Dutler also drove in 4 runs.
Michael D'Angelo was the winning pitcher.
