Stanford grad Jovan Swann to play final season at Indiana

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) - Former Stanford defensive end Jovan Swann has decided to play his final college season with the Indiana Hoosiers.

Athletic department officials made the announcement Wednesday. Swann had previously announced his decision on Twitter.

The 6-foot-2, 270-pound Swann recorded 85 tackles, 18 1/2 tackles for loss and 11 1/2 sacks in 39 games with the Cardinal. He made 19 starts during his career and has a bachelor's degree in human biology.

'œWe are pleased to welcome Javon to our program,'ť coach Tom Allen said. 'œJavon's a very mature, sound player who will make our team better. He brings us tremendous leadership and production.'ť

Swann played in high school at Center Grove, just south of Indianapolis, and was named the state's 2015 defensive player of the year. He also was a two-time first-team selection to the Associated Press' all-state team.

Swann's brother, Mario Jr., played at Indiana from 2013-15.
