Granada parts ways with coach Jemez after 6 matches in Spain

GRANADA, Spain (AP) - Granada says coach Paco Jemez is leaving the club in "mutual agreement" after only six matches in the Spanish league.

The Andalusian club made the announcement on Wednesday, two days after it lost 3-1 at promoted Alaves for its fourth defeat.

Granada remains winless and in second-to-last place in the 20-team standings with only two points.

Jemez was hired by Granada less than three months ago, after he coached relegated Rayo Vallecano last season.

Jemez said he feels "responsible" for Granada's early struggles.

Granada B coach Lluis Planaguma will be in charge of the first team until a replacement is announced.

The team's next match is against promoted Leganes on Saturday.
