Bird strike sends United jet back to Houston, nobody hurt

HOUSTON (AP) - A bird strike has forced a United Airlines jet bound for Germany to safely return to Houston.
United spokeswoman Maddie King said Monday that nobody was hurt and the carrier made other arrangements for the passengers to fly to Munich.
King says Flight 102 left George Bush Intercontinental Airport late Sunday afternoon when the bird strike happened. She had no immediate information on the type of bird strike or damage to the plane, which carried 184 passengers and 13 crewmembers.
The Boeing 767 landed in Houston around 6 p.m. CST Sunday.
King says maintenance crews were examining the jet.
