Lake County judges reading Lincoln tale to students
In recognition of the Illinois Judges Association's literacy initiative, and in conjunction with the annual February celebration of the life and legacy of Abraham Lincoln, Lake County judges will be participating in a reading project in K-4 classrooms across the county.
Judges will read "Abe Lincoln's Hat," an account of the personality and adventures of Lincoln that reveals a secret about what he stored inside his famous, tall, black hat. The four-year-old reading program was started by Second District Appellate Court Justice Mary S. Schostok.
Any principal or teacher interested in hosting a judge as a guest reader should contact ija@chicagobar.org or Judge Elizabeth Rochford at erochford@lakecountyil.gov.
