Experience pioneer life at Tavern Day

Experience pioneer life as it was in the 1840s during Glen Ellyn Historical Society's 15th annual Tavern Day celebration.

the event includes farm animals, craft-making, strolling musicians, a blacksmith, a rope maker, candle making, corn-husk doll creating, story telling, the life of bees, and other pioneer activities that families worked together to accomplish. Historic Stacy's Tavern Museum is open for tours as well.

The event will be from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, at 800 N. Main St., Glen Ellyn,

Admission is $8 for adults, $6 Glen Ellyn Historical Society members, $4 children 3-17, $3 Glen Ellyn Historical Society members children. Children under 3 are free. Tickets are available at Stacy's Corner Store or buy at the gate on Tavern Day. For more information, call (630) 469-1867.
