Due date approaches for second property tax installment

The second installment of property tax bills is due Sept. 3, Kane County Treasurer David Rickert said.

If you are a new or existing homeowner and need a copy of the bill to remit payment, you may print off a bill from the internet by visiting KaneCountyTreasurer.org or calling the treasurer's office at (630) 232-3565.

Taxpayers can make their payment by:

• Mailing it to the treasurer's office; mail postmarked by Sept. 3 is considered on time.

• Placing the payment in the property tax drop box, which is available 24 hours a day behind Building (A) at the Government Center, 719 South Batavia Ave., Geneva.

• Making the payment at a participating Kane County bank; a list is available at KaneCountyTreasurer.org.

• Paying over the internet by E-check (this service is free).

• Paying over the internet by credit/debit card (there is a convenience fee for this service).
