Insulting decision
I'm insulted by Mr. Kyle's handling of the cancellation of the Civil War Days. His quote was, "This is an enactment of a war over African Americans and there are some people that don't want to be reminded of that." Further, he said, "Some of the things that really happened are not in the history books."
Well, excuse me, but 375,000 Union soldiers died, including 40,000 African American soldiers. Denying their sacrifice is a slap in the face. Most attendees at Civil War Days celebrate the Union victory.
They say that those who want to forget historical facts tend to repeat them.
