Deer Park to host Mustang soccer team, movie for Olympics-themed event

The Chicago Mustang professional indoor soccer team will be at the Vehe Farm Park at 6:30 p.m. Friday to play and interact with kids during an event hosted by the village of Deer Park called Olympic Fever.

After the soccer action, the village will host a showing of "Rio," the 2011 animated movie about a pair of blue macaws set in Rio de Janeiro, the host city of the Summer Olympics. The village will provide free popcorn and blue slushies for the screening, which will go on rain or shine. The movie will start after sundown.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets and chairs, as well as picnic food and drinks. Vehe Farm Park is located at 23570 Cuba Road in Deer Park.
