Aurora's Sheffer Road closing for bridge work

Construction is beginning this week on the Sheffer Road bridge over Indian Creek in Aurora, closing the road to through traffic between Tollview Avenue and Becker Road.

Detour signs advise drivers to use Farnsworth Avenue, Indian Trail and Felten Road.

Delays are expected while crews replace the bridge, widen Sheffer Road and add a new water main and storm sewer.

Construction on what is the 11th bridge project in Aurora since 2006 is scheduled to be finished in October.
