Elk Grove police stepping up enforcement on Route 83

Elk Grove Village and Buffalo Grove police officers will be on the lookout for driving violations Friday on Route 83 as part of a traffic safety campaign.

The departments are among several law enforcement agencies in Cook and DuPage counties that will be conducting traffic enforcement along the Route 83 corridor.

Authorities say they will focus on violations involving speed, distracted driving, occupant restraint and driving under the influence.
