Title of 'Dr.' recognizes well-earned achievement

This is in response to the letter telling Dr. Jill Biden to get her title "correct" and stop using the "Dr." designation.

How unfortunate that, when he sees "Dr." in front of a name, the letter writer can only recognize a medical designation. And he wrongly assumes the rest of us are as myopic as he is.

Why deny anyone the right to an earned educational designation? Why find it offensive? In my opinion, this narrow-minded attitude diminishes the dedication and hard work of scholars.
