CCSD21 promotes Melissa Scaletta to director of early childhood education

The Community Consolidated School District 21 Board of Education on Dec. 14 voted in favor of naming Melissa Scaletta as the new director of early childhood education, effective July 1, 2024.

Scaletta succeeds Lynne Duffy, who is set to retire in the spring. She previously served as a student services Educational Life Skills Program coordinator within the district, and prior to that, as an instructional specialist for special education and as a special education teacher at Frost Elementary School.

In recommending her approval, district administrators said Scaletta “is passionate about working with students and teachers to grow them to their fullest potential.”

Scaletta’s initial annual salary will be $125,000 per year for a 12-month administrative contract, plus the standard administrator benefit package.
