LEADING OFF: Wainwright in spring debut, Yanks show off 'pen

A look at what's happening all around spring training in Florida and Arizona today:

___

ACE UP

Cardinals righty Adam Wainwright is set to make his spring debut, facing the New York Mets. That'll put him on pace to start the season opener for the NL Central champions on April 3 at Pittsburgh.

WHAT A RELIEF

Lefty Andrew Miller and right Dellin Betances, part of a deep Yankees bullpen that features new closer Aroldis Chapman, will pitch for the first time against Houston.

ROOKIE WATCH

Phillip Ervin, the Reds' top pick in the 2013 draft, has homered two straight days. He could aim for three in a row when Cincinnati plays an Angels split squad.

SOONER OR LATER

South Korean outfielder Hyun Soo Kim is still searching for his first hit with Baltimore. He's 0 for 16 so far and hasn't drawn a walk - he walked 101 times in the Korean league last year. The Orioles face Phil Hughes and Minnesota.

NO RUSH

Mets third baseman David Wright isn't scheduled to play in a game this week. He was diagnosed with spinal stenosis last year and took a month off to rest his back after the season. Manager Terry Collins said he would like Wright to play in 10-12 Grapefruit League exhibitions and possibly some minor league games.
