On the last day of Trump's presidency, the CDC reported total U.S. Covid deaths at 424,411; Border Patrol had apprehended 626,191 immigrants illegally entering the country over the previous year; gas prices were averaging $2.50/gallon locally; the overall inflation rate was 1.4%; and there had been no U.S. military deaths in Afghanistan over the previous year.
On the last day of Biden's first year as president, the CDC reported total U.S. COVID deaths for that year at 428,819; Border Patrol reported apprehending 1,956,596 immigrants illegally entering the country; gas prices were averaging $3.50/gallon locally; the overall inflation rate was 7%; and there had been 13 U.S. military deaths in Afghanistan and $80 billion of weapons left behind for use by the Taliban.
