Man critically injured in crash near Grayslake

A man is in critical condition after a one-car crash Wednesday morning on Route 120 just east of Almond Road in unincorporated area near Grayslake.

The man, who was not identified by authorities, was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with life-threatening injuries, according to a news release from the Lake County sheriff's office.

The initial investigation indicates the man, who was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Corvette, was heading west on Route 120 when he lost control of the vehicle, drove onto the center median and rolled over. The driver was ejected from the vehicle.

Sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Christopher Covelli said there was no indication the driver was wearing his seat belt.
