One killed in house fire near Carol Stream

One person died Monday in a house fire in an unincorporated area near Carol Stream, according to a news release from the DuPage County Sheriff's Department.

The sheriff's department responded to the house fire in the 1N200 block of Darling Street around 4:25 p.m. and received assistance from the Carol Stream, Wheaton and Addison fire departments, the release said.

The DuPage County Fire Investigation Task Force is investigating, according to the release.
