Longtime Lake Barrington village administrator resigns

Longtime Lake Barrington Village Administrator Chris Martin has resigned, the village announced Wednesday.

Martin, who has served the village for about 12 years, is stepping down to "pursue other opportunities," according to a two-sentence statement issued by the village.

Neither Martin or Village President Kevin Richardson could be reached for comment.

Village Attorney Jim Bateman said officials will select an interim village administrator to serve as Martin's replacement.

Bateman said he wouldn't characterize Martin's midweek departure as sudden.

"I'm not in the position to be able to know," Bateman said.

Last week's village board agenda included discussion of an ordinance setting Martin's compensation for the year ahead.
