Centreville man gets 11 years in prison for prostitution

CENTREVILLE, Ill. (AP) - A Centreville man has been sentenced to more than 11 years in prison for the commercial sex trafficking of a 16-year-old girl.

The Belleville News-Democrat (http://bit.ly/2a4E7ZS ) reports that 25-year-old Demerous E. Foxworth was sentenced in federal court Friday and ordered to pay a $500 fine and a $200 special assessment. He'll be on parole for 10 years after his release.

In April, Foxworth pleaded guilty to commercial sex trafficking of a minor and use of a facility of interstate commerce to promote an unlawful activity.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says that Foxworth contacted a 16-year-old girl and established a sexual relationship with her in the summer of 2014. He then helped the victim make money through prostitution and received a portion of the finances.

Foxworth did the same with five women from 2012 to 2015.
