Three inmates stabbed during fight at Cook County jail
Three inmates were stabbed and a correctional officer was hurt during a fight Friday afternoon at the Cook County jail in Chicago, officials say.
Two inmates started fighting in the maximum-security area about 3:45 p.m., ABC 7 Chicago reports. Others joined the fight, including one inmate who used a pen to stab three others. Corrections officers broke up the fight with pepper spray, according to the report.
Two inmates were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and one was taken to Stroger Hospital - all in serious condition - and a corrections officer also was treated for minor injuries caused by pepper spray, ABC 7 said.
The fight is under investigation.
