Clubhouse Chatter: Sports event you'd have liked to see in person
What our Sports staff has to say while waiting for the games to resume.
I wish I could have gone to any of the Chicago Bulls' playoff games during their championship years, especially during the first three-peat when everything was so new and exciting. I was such a huge fan of the team, and of Michael Jordan, of course, and I watched every game on TV. But I was a poor college student at Northwestern and could only dream of being at the games in person. After the Bulls clinched that first championship in 1991, I drove all around the city that night with a couple of my college friends. Like so many others, we had our windows down and were yelling and screaming with joy as we drove along beeping our horn. I went to the massive championship celebration in Grant Park with my dad. That was absolutely crazy. A great memory.

Due to "long-suffering Cubs fan" status, of course I would have loved to have attended a 2016 World Series game. My dad attended a Cubs-Tigers game at Wrigley Field during the 1945 World Series, and I'd have liked to have taken him to one of the games during the 2016 classic.

I've seen pretty much everything. Saw Cubs and White Sox World Series. Saw the Bears win a Super Bowl. Saw multiple Bulls and Blackhawks titles. The 2012 Ryder Cup was extraordinary. But the "Miracle on Ice" is the one I wish I could have been at. Greatest sporting event ever.

When people ask, I always tell them the best place to watch a professional sports event is from your home. Big-screen TV with high-def and replay, bathroom and packed fridge a room away, Sixty-eight degrees inside, free parking. That said, I would have loved to have been at the Louisiana Superdome for Super Bowl XX on Jan. 26, 1986, since, you know, it's only the Super Bowl the Bears have won.
