Dundee-Crown tops Hampshire; Aurora Christian wins tourney

In Dundee-Crown's 46-39 win over Hampshire, Payton Schmidt led the way for the host school with 16 points and 8 rebounds at the Komaromy Classic. The Whip-Purs will play Prospect Saturday for the consolation crown.

For Hampshire, it was Ally Cermak leading the offense with 13 points, including 4 of 5 from the free-throw line.

Naperville Central 51, South Elgin 48: Megan McClure led all scorers, dropping in 20 points for South Elgin. Madison Waichuna added 11 points and 7 rebounds for the Storm in a tough loss at the Komaromy Classic at Dundee-Crown.

St. Charles North 38, Resurrection 20: Anna Tate had 12 points and 5 rebounds for St. Charles North in a win at the Komaromy Classic. Emma Nawara added 11 points and 7 rebounds for the North Stars.

ACC 47, Lemont 38: Delani Kosner led ACC (6-10) with 13 points and 5 assists. Jackie Fechner and Tressa Cwinski each finished with 8 points, and Lara Anger pulled down 10 rebounds for the Chargers at the Oswego East Holiday Tournament.

Marist 57, Geneva 41: Lindsay Blackmore led the offense for Geneva with 16 points and Cassidy Navigato added 12 points, all from 3-point range. The Vikings will play Evanston Saturday for 7th place at the Montini Christmas Classic.

Batavia 57, Huntley 30: Batavia picked up a nice win at the Montini Christmas Tournament led by a game high 28 points from Ava Sergio. Erin Golden added 19 points for the Bulldogs. Kamsi Nwoga led the offense for Huntley (5-9) with 14 points.

Jacobs 45, Elgin 31: A tie game at the end of the first quarter, Jacobs pulled away in the second and never looked back. Top scoring for the Golden Eagles came from Elizabeth Schwartz with 19 points and Klaesyn Sibless with 13 points. Dajha Cooper finished with a double-double for Elgin (3-13), scoring 10 points and pulling down 10 boards at the Bill Neibch Falcon Classic.

Aurora Christian 60, Earlville 46: Lexi Lamanna scored a career-high 24 points powering Aurora Christian(13-5) to a win over host Earlville to win the Earlville Christmas Tournament Championship.

Kaneland drops two at Decatur Tournament: The Knights fell to Champaign Central in the first of 2 games 43-38, led by 8 points from Jill Mitchinson. In the second game, Kaneland (12-5) lost to Mt. Zion 50-43. Kelsey Moddaff and Bryanna Kigyos both scored in double digits for the Knights with 12 points and 10 points, respectively.

Palatine 47, St. Charles East 30: Madeleine Hirata had 7 points and 3 rebounds for St. Charles East to lead the Saints at the Bill Neibch Falcon Classic.
