Masters at a glance
AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) - A brief look at the final round of the Masters on Sunday:
CHAMPION: Danny Willett (67) at 5-under 283.
RUNNERS-UP: Jordan Spieth (73) and Lee Westwood (69) finished three shots behind.
LOW AMATEUR: Bryson DeChambeau tied for 21st and was low amateur.
MELTDOWN: Spieth led by five before back-to-back bogeys on 10 and 11. Then, he put two in the water on the par-3 12th. That led to a 7, and quick as that, he trailed Willett by three.
OTHER PLANS: Willett's child was due Sunday and he wasn't planning on playing the Masters until his son was born early on March 30.
SHOTS OF THE DAY: Louis Oosthuizen's tee shot on 16 landed softly, rolled toward the hole, then ricocheted off J.B. Holmes' ball and into the hole. Shane Lowry and Davis Love III also made a hole-in-one, the first time in Masters history that a hole was aced three times in the same day.
KEY STATISTIC: Jordan Spieth made a record 28 birdies last year and shot 270 to win by four. He made 21 birdies this year and shot 286 to lose by three.
NOTEWORTHY: Willett became the first European to win the Masters since Jose Maria Olazabal of Spain in 1999.
QUOTEWORTHY: "Big picture, this one will hurt. It will take a while" to get over. -Spieth, after squandering a five-shot lead on the back nine and losing by three.
RETURNING: Lee Westwood, Soren Kjeldsen, Matthew Fitzpatrick and Daniel Berger all finished in the top 12 to earn an automatic invitation back next year.
NEXT MAJOR: U.S. Open, June 16-19 at Oakmont. Spieth is the defending champion.
