Reliving the filming of 'Lucas' in Glen Ellyn

When the movie "Lucas" was filmed in Glen Ellyn 30 years ago, many residents and Glenbard West High School students had the opportunity to be extras.

They will have an opportunity to relive those memories when the Glen Ellyn Historical Society celebrates the 30th anniversary of filming of the movie at Glenbard West and Lake Ellyn.

The society holds two showings of the 1986 movie at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at the Glen Ellyn History Center, 800 N. Main St. Tickets are $5 and include popcorn.

The 7 p.m. event also includes former Glenbard West High School students and other community members sharing their memories of the filming. Admission is $15.

Tickets may be purchased in advance at Stacy's Corners Store at the History Center, 800 N. Main St., from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. For details, call (630) 469-1867.
