Renewal of faith needed
Each day newspapers and TV news report the bad behavior prevalent in our world today. It's as if our moral compass is no longer working. This should be no surprise in light of a culture that worships pleasure, power and possessions instead of God.
We need to let religious faith enter our everyday life; not for an hour or so each week, but 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We learned today that the life expectancy in the U.S. is shorter due to suicides and drug overdoses. I suspect "growing up without God" is a contributor.
We have far more examples of conversion of heart, as was and is always possible. We are encouraged by the song Amazing Grace written by John Newson (1725-1807), the slave runner who became a Christian minister and worked to end slavery in England.
