NCH offering free programs for older adults this month

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (September 1, 2016) - Northwest Community Healthcare is hosting several free programs for adults over age 55 at the Arlington Heights Senior Center, 1801 W. Central Road, Arlington Heights.

Some programs require registration. Call the Senior Center at (847) 253-5532 for more information. You do not need to be an Arlington Heights resident to attend.

• Thursday, Sept. 8 - Anxiety education and support group from 10 to 11 a.m.

• Tuesday, Sept. 13 - Diabetes education and support group: Why test around meals from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

• Wednesday, Sept. 14 - Healthy cooking demonstration: Mushrooms from 9 to 10 a.m.

• Wednesday, Sept. 14 - Managing your diabetes 101 from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

• Thursday, Sept. 15 - Brainwaves stroke support group from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

• Monday, Sept. 19 - Depression support group from 10 to 11 a.m.

• Wednesday, Sept. 21 - Parkinson's support group from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

• Thursday, Sept. 22 - Pain is not a normal part of aging from 11 a.m. to noon.

Nurses are available from 10 a.m. until noon every Tuesday and Wednesday at the senior center in room 152 for free blood pressure checks and to answer healthcare questions.
