Arkansas State's Odom is Sun Belt defensive player of week

JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas State defensive end Chris Odom has been named the Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

Odom was announced Monday as the winner of the award after ASU defeated Texas State 36-14 on Saturday and claimed a share of the conference championship.

Odom had five tackles, including four for loss and three quarterback sacks in the Red Wolves' win.

ASU improved to 7-5 overall and 7-1 in conference play with the win and will play Central Florida in the Cure Bowl on Dec. 17 in Orlando, Florida.
