Thursday, May 5, Friday, May 6 and Saturday, May 7 Dates for Lombard Lilac Sale

The Lombard Garden Club celebrating their 90th anniversary worked on the pruning and potting of over 350 lilac bushes on Monday, March 28. With the help of the Lombard Park District employees, the garden club volunteers finished their jobs quickly and efficiently. The dates for the Lilac Bush Sale are Thursday, May 5 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday, May 6, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Saturday, May 7 from 8:00 AM until "sold out". Lilacia Park is the location for the sale and the address is 150 S. Park Avenue in Lombard. There will be at least 350 lilac bushes for sale as well as lilac trees and these include 16 different cultivars. This project is the largest fund raiser the Garden Club participates in on a yearly basis. "Lilac bushes are great gifts for Mother's Day," said Rose Roth, Lilac Sale Chairman. Proceeds from this sale go to the beautification of Lombard and a scholarship for a Lombard high school student. For information call 630-268-7001 or 630- 495-0022 .
