Barrington United Methodist Church to Support Deployed Troops

To support U.S. Marines deployed in Iraq, a Mission Project is being undertaken by the Barrington United Methodist Church, 98 Algonquin Road, Barrington, IL 60010. Gift packages will be provided to Marines serving in a rifle company from the 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment.

At least 250 gift packages will be filled in September with items experienced troops say would be enjoyed by troops serving in Iraq. These items include small cans of fruit; chap stick; gum; 'gold fish'; wet wipes; small cans of peanuts; cans of deviled ham and Vienna sausage; bars of soap; tooth paste; dental floss; protein bars; sun flower seeds; and cheese/peanut butter & crackers.

Through contributions, the church is seeking to raise about $4,000 to cover the cost of the contents and mailing. Checks to support this important mission can be made out to the Barrington United Methodist Church, with a notation, 'for the troops'. In kind gifts of the items above may also be provided. They will all be gratefully received at the church address above.
