Learn about benefits of acupuncture - one needle at a time, at NCH lecture

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (October 10, 2016) - Come learn how acupuncture can help your overall health, one needle at a time.

Victoria Sous, owner and licenses acupuncturist at Healing Paradise Acupuncture in Mount Prospect, will discuss how acupuncture can relieve pain and other health ailments during a lecture sponsored by Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH). The lecture, Acupuncture and the benefits of Eastern health practices, is scheduled at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 13, at the Arlington Heights Senior Center, 1801 W. Central Road, Arlington Heights.

The lecture is one of several free programs for adults over age 55. To register, call the Senior Center at 847-253-5532.

The full October schedule of NCH programs at the Senior Center:

• Tuesday, October 11 - Diabetes education and support group - 9 to 10:30 a.m.

• Wednesday, October 12 - Healthy cooking demonstration: High-fiber foods - 9 to 10 a.m.

• Wednesday, October 12 - Diabetes 101 - 5 to 6:30 p.m.

• Thursday, October 13 - Anxiety education and support group - 10 to 11 a.m.

• Thursday, October 13 - Lecture: Acupuncture and the benefits of Eastern health practices - 11 a.m. to noon

• Monday, October 17 - Depression support group - 10 to 11 a.m.

• Wednesday, October 19 - Parkinson's support group - 6:30 to 8 p.m.

• Thursday, October 20 - Brainwaves stroke support group - 2 to 3:30 p.m.

• Thursday, October 27 - What is stroke? - 11 a.m. to noon.

Nurses are available from 10 a.m. until noon every Tuesday and Wednesday at the senior center in room 152 for free blood pressure checks and to answer healthcare questions.
