UConn to hold send-off rally in advance of Final Four
STORRS, Conn. (AP) - The University of Connecticut is holding a send-off rally for its women's basketball team, which is heading to its ninth straight Final Four.
The team will be leaving for Indianapolis at about 1 p.m. on Thursday.
Fans are asked to gather outside Gampel Pavilion to cheer the team as it boards the busses for the airport.
The school says its band and cheer and dance teams will be there. The school will be giving out T-shirts, rally towels, autographed items and more to fans.
The Huskies (36-0) are riding a 73-game winning streak and a record-breaking 22-game NCAA Tournament winning streak as they seek an unprecedented fourth straight national championship.
They play Oregon State (32-4) in a national semifinal on Sunday.
