North Avenue lanes closed at I-294 near Elmhurst

Two lanes of eastbound North Avenue have been closed at I-294 in Elmhurst and Northlake for emergency pavement repairs related to ongoing tollway construction in the area, IDOT officials said Tuesday.

The repairs are expected to be complete by Friday, with the possibility of a full closure of the eastbound lanes at some point.

Drivers can expect significant delays and should allow extra time for trips through the area.

A recommended alternate route is to take eastbound Lake Street and Railroad Avenue to reconnect with North Avenue.
