Aurora man sentenced to 12 years in prison for stabbing
An Aurora man is headed to prison for stabbing a man in the neck at an Aurora bar in April 2016.
Kane County Associate Judge Linda S. Abrahamson sentenced 37-year-old Michael W. Moser-Booth to 12 years in prison for one count of armed violence. A Kane County jury convicted Moser-Booth of the crime on Sept. 13.
Authorities said Moser-Booth entered a bar in the 700 block of Hill Avenue in Aurora on April 12, 2016, and stabbed the victim in the left side of the neck.
Moser-Booth ran from the bar but was tackled in the parking lot and detained by an off-duty Aurora police officer who had witnessed the stabbing. When other officers arrived, Moser-Booth was taken into custody while still holding the knife.
Moser-Booth knew the victim and targeted him. The victim continues to suffer from his injuries, which doctors said are permanent.
