Girls golf: Stevenson nails down NSC crown
Behind a medalist round of 81 from Emily Duan, Stevenson won the North Suburban Conference girls golf tournament at Bonnie Brook on Wednesday with a team score of 336.
Chelsea She shot an 83 for the Patriots, while Amrita Johar, Briana Fidman and Megan Lee each had 86s.
Lake Forest was second with a 344, Mundelein third with a 379 and Lake Zurich fourth with a 390.
Lake Zurich's Kiana Pouyat finished second individually with an 82.
DKC girls:
In the 5-8 team meet for the DuKane Conference at Phillips Park in Aurora, Geneva shot a 353 to beat out Wheaton Warrenville South (385), Glenbard North (393) and Batavia (414). Reese Clark led Geneva with a 76 while Maya Hawkins carded an 88.
ESCC boys:
On Tuesday at St. Andrews in West Chicago, Benet won the East Suburban Catholic Conference meet with a 318. The Redwings' Jack DiTrani was the medalist with a 75. Quinn Shanley added a 79 for Benet while Ryan Farago had an 81 and Ryan Dannegger shot 83. St. Viator came in second with a 327, led by a 78 from Jack Lynch. Grayson Hill (82), Charlie Bullock (83) and David Koziol (84) also scored for the Lions. Carmel, led by Clint Bailes' 77, finished with a 340 to take fourth place.
CSL South boys:
Glenbrook North won the Central Suburban South title at Deerfield Golf Club with a 288. Kevin O'Regan (67), Max Barr (70), Carl Gustin (71) and Charlie Cremean (72) led the Spartans. Glenbrook South was third with a 310, led by a 74 from Thomas McGurn. Maine South, paced by a 76 from Myles Lahart, finished fourth at 315.
Interstate Eight girls:
In its first season as a program, Kaneland won the tournament with a 401. Katharine Marshall and Julia Skiba earned all-conference honors by placing fourth and sixth, respectively, for the Knights.
