Clubhouse Chatter: Guess who's coming to dinner?
What our Sports staff has to say while waiting for the games to resume.
I'd like to have one more night out with Ron Santo, Bob Brenly and Thom Brennaman. I don't know that any of us would survive it today. Come to think of it, I'm not sure how any of us survived it 30 years ago.

Archie Manning, Lou Henson and Buck Weaver. I've always admired the way Archie Manning raised his kids and would like to hear his thoughts on parenting as well as the stories he must have from several generations of college and professional football. Henson is a gentleman in a sport that doesn't always have a lot of them, and I'd love his memories of 1980s Big Ten basketball and classic games against Bobby Knight, Gene Keady and other great coaches. Weaver because I always felt he got a bad deal in the Black Sox scandal and would like to get the real story.

Ernie Banks, because he was my boyhood idol. Walter Payton, because, to me, he's the greatest Bear ever. And Mike Ditka, just for the laughs. (I would have said Harry Caray, but I once had dinner with him and Steve Stone in Arizona).

Not a Yankees fan but I'd invite Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle and Billy Martin for steaks, scotch and cigars. Can you imagine the stories after a few rounds? We could share an Uber afterward. Ruth can sit up front with the driver.

Jack Lambert, Roberto Clemente, Mario Lemieux. They are my three favorite players from the days when I was a full-time fan. Lambert has always been No. 1 on the list, and it's always fun arguing with Bears fans about which linebacker was better, Lambert or Dick Butkus.
