Palatine council to vote on new subdivision

The Palatine village council on Monday will consider a subdivision proposed for the south side of the village. The development, called Arcadia West, would have 12 single-family homes built on 6.79 acres that surround a home on the 300 block of West Michigan Avenue

Several neighboring homeowners raised concerns that the new houses would cause more neighborhood flooding. But according to village documents, Palatine staffers concluded the developer's plan adequately addresses the flooding question. The Palatine Plan Commission voted 8-0 to recommend the plan, and the village staff has concurred.
