Reboot Illinois acquired by AFK Media Group

Investment firm AFK Media Group Wednesday announced it completed the acquisition of Reboot Illinois from Reboot Media Group LLC. Terms of the deal are not disclosed.

Madeleine Doubek has been promoted to publisher, while Matt Dietrich will become editor starting March 15.

Doubek, who lives in Des Plaines, covered Illinois politics for more than a decade and served as managing editor and executive editor of the Daily Herald before joining Reboot. Dietrich was editorial page editor of The State Journal-Register in Springfield.

Reboot Illinois was founded in 2012 by Anne Dias and is a political journalism website with offices in Chicago and Springfield. She also founded Aragon Global Management, a hedge fund investing in global equities and in media/Internet businesses.

Chicago-based AFK Media invests in digital technology platforms nationwide. Anthony Knierim, one of AFK's partners, will join Reboot's board of directors.
