Meadows rolls past Conant

Rolling Meadows, which is listed among the teams receiving votes in the Class 4A state girls basketball poll, received a game-high 16 points from senior Lily Greifenstein en route to a 52-31 Mid-Suburban League crossover win at Conant on Tuesday night.

Classmate Alexa Davis added 13 points (three 3-pointers) for the Mustangs (15-4), who led 16-8 after one quarter and 36-14 at half. Greifenstein had two 3-pointers and freshman teammate Moira Hickey (7 points) had one.

Hannah Shulman and Chikere Oduoacha each had 8 points for Conant (6-11).

Maine West 58, Vernon Hills 21: Rachel Kent (17 points, 3 steals, 2 assists) and Dylan Van Fleet (14 points, 4 steals, 2 assists) led the visiting Warriors (20-0, 5-0) in the Central Suburban North. Angela Dugalic (7 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 block) and Vanessa Reyes (9 points) also contributed for the state's top-ranked Class 4A team.

St. Viator 77, Elk Grove 53: In nonconference action, Elise Horbach (20 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals) and Joy Bergstrom (19 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals) led the host Lions (14-5) to the win. Emma Morrisey added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists for St. Viator and Natalie Krause had 13 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals. Rachel Kandefer (8 points), Lili Duckmann (7) and Alyssa Trausch (7) paced Elk Grove (5-11).

Christian Liberty 60, Hiawatha 26: Freshman Julia Wolke scored 19 points and freshman Melissa Castro added 14 to lead CLA to a nonconference win. They each had three 3-pointers. Sophomore Megan Ng had 10 points in the win and freshman Audrey Law added 8.

Geneva 55, Schaumburg 33: The Saxons are 9-9 after the nonconference loss at Geneva.
