Weather Service warns of high winds across Indiana Saturday

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - High winds forecast for Saturday across Indiana were having an impact already on Friday.

Purdue Athletics announced tailgating tents and all other temporary structures in parking lots will be prohibited for the Boilermakers' home game against Iowa.

Indiana University Athletics said everyone attending the Hoosiers' home game against Penn State should use extreme caution with tents, temporary structures and tailgate equipment in and around Memorial Stadium and they must be taken down if requested to do so by an IU Athletics or gameday event management official. It also said no tailgate materials including grills or fires can be left unattended.

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday saying south winds of 20-30 mph (32-48 kilometers per hour) were expected with gusts up to 50 mph (80 kilometers per hour).
