Elgin police warn commuters to avoid Elgin intersection

Elgin police suggest you find an alternate route today and Tuesday if you normally travel through the intersection of Royal and McLean boulevards.
Starting at 8 a.m., southbound McLean will be restricted to one lane for construction work.
On Tuesday, flaggers will control traffic on Royal at McLean while a water main is installed.
