Palatine Legion to host paint and drink fundraiser March 12

Palatine American Legion Auxiliary Post 690 will hold a Vino van Gogh Paint, Drink & Be Merry fundraiser on March 12.

"If you are a budding artist or just want to try to paint a piece of art, this project is for you," said Lisa Wente, the project's co-chair. "You'll receive step-by-step instructions on how to create your own version of the painting 'You had me at merlot!' and enjoy a drink while you're painting."

The event begins at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at Splinters Sports Pub. 2070 N. Rand Road in Palatine. Advanced registration is available at vinogogh.com. The fee is $38 per person and art supplies are provided. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Legion Family Charities.
