Elk Grove Village Cares Family Support Group Meetings
The Elk Grove Village Cares program, a community-based strategy to tackle opioid addiction, not only helps addicts with recovery options but also provides support to families and loved ones that are impacted by an addict's struggle with addiction. Amita Healthcare and Elk Grove Village Social Worker Des Raftery encourage strong family and community support. As a community, it is important to overcome the bias of addiction and treat addiction as a disease.
In effort to overcome the bias of addiction and offer a safe place to gather, Elk Grove Village is hosting support group meetings open to anyone who has a loved one dealing with substance addiction. Elk Grove Village Cares Family Support Group Meetings take place on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 7 p.m. in Room E of the Charles J. Zettek Municipal Complex, located at 901 Wellington Avenue in Elk Grove Village.
