Why you ask am I the best candidate because I am not running for any political interest or personal gains, so I have no one to answer to, but the people of Villa Park. Making me the voice of residents for local infrastructure and fighting to bring in new business to the Village without digging deeper into your pockets. I am a good listener and won't back down when it's important to the people of this Village. I have no reason to lie to you when I am Trustee, because I have no personal agenda, except to make Villa Park a village we can be Proud of.What is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales and property taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.Let face it taxes are high everywhere and we all would like them lower. Are our sales taxes and property taxes too high for what they are being used for "YES"!Rate the efficiency of your town's police and fire coverage. Are the departments well prepared for the next decade? What, if anything, should be changed? Do you have specific public safety concerns? Our police and fire department are efficiency doing their job with the resources they have. I am glad to say that Villa Park is trying to keep up, no one can totally be prepared for the next decade. I personally have been watching very closely how our money is being spent in this area. By asking question at the Village Board meetings why the Police department needed to purchases 3 new patrol vehicles, radios and MDT computers. When the Fire department wanted to purchase a new fire truck, ambulance and SCBA, I again was at the Village Board meeting asking questions. Safety of the people in Village is high on my concerns list. We need to make sure are children and elderly can get the services they need.Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?There is always places to trim the budget and make cuts, but when you do there is always fall out, which I am prepared to hand. Yes, the underground piping/infrastructure which the Board know about when they convinced us to pass the road referendum. If it was budgeted better, the Board would not have needed to raise our water bills and increase our sales tax. We all know this problem of our roads, flooding and aging piping did not just pop up overnight. Sadly it has come to a point now that we are forced to fix them with no money in the budget and the high cost being passed on to us the residents. What is one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet? This is not my idea only, as a member of the the park recreation commission I am trying to follow through with the master plan we presented to the resident of Villa Park. For a future Recreation Center, improved swimming pools, athlete areas and parks. We need places for our children to play safely, without fear and danger. We need to continue to look for alternative ways to get funding to do it.What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office? It's important to me that we have a board that will work together for the betterment of the Village and not individual agendas. I would like to see the people of Villa Park take interest again about what is happening in Village. Not be afraid to come to the Board meetings and get answer instead of criticism. Would also like to see our roads get replaced and repaired in a timely fashion. Find solutions to the flooding problems in the Village. Get more new business in Village that don't need taxes breaks or liquor licenses. Please name one current leader who most inspires you. Each person I meet has some kind of influence on my life. Some bad some good, but no one leader has inspired meWhat is the biggest lesson you learned at home growing up?Treat everyone like you would like to be treated. Be honest, trustworthy, and respect will followIf life gave you one do-over, what would you spend it on?I would go back to 4th grade with the knowledge I know now and make different choices. What was your favorite subject in school and how did it help you in later life?MusicIt did not help me, it just taught me to enjoy the simple things in lifeIf you could give your children only one piece of advice, what would it be?To repect yourself, because you have to live with the decisions you make.
