West suburban Chicago woman dies after pinned under car
HINSDALE, Ill. (AP) - A 71-year-old west suburban Chicago woman has died after being struck by and pinned under a car.
Hinsdale Police Chief Brian King said the Hinsdale woman died overnight after being struck Tuesday by a car driven by a 93-year-old Darien woman. Their names weren't immediately released.
The Pioneer Press suburban newspaper group reports the car jumped a curb and struck the woman and a jewelry store. Hinsdale Fire Chief John Giannelli says the victim ended up under the right front tire of the car and pinned against the building.
Giannelli says firefighters used a hydraulic spreader to lift the car off the woman.
The jewelry store sustained superficial damage.
