Lake County sheriff's office to hold police crisis intervention training

Lake County sheriff's office officials will provide a 40-hour crisis intervention team certification program for local police officers the week of Dec. 12-16. It'll be the fourth time this year the office hosts the program. The weeklong certification class will include classroom learning and scenario-based exercises. Topics to be covered include mental health signs and symptoms, geriatric issues and returning combat veterans.
