KOKOMO, Ind. (AP) - Officials say three people have died following a head-on crash in central Indiana.

The Howard County sheriff's office says an SUV heading westbound apparently crossed the center line and collided with an eastbound pickup truck Thursday afternoon on State Road 22 near Kokomo. The sheriff's office says all three occupants of the vehicles were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the SUV was identified as 56-year-old Brando Wheeler of Kokomo. The sheriff's office said the driver of the truck was 82-year-old Ronald Fortner of Kokomo and his passenger was 85-year-old Donald Wright of Kokomo.

The cause of the crash was under investigation Friday. The sheriff's office says autopsies are scheduled for both drivers on Saturday.
