Waukegan police to provide extra patrols after church burglaries
Waukegan police will be providing extra patrols near the city's religious venues after four burglaries at local churches within the past week, officials said Tuesday.
The first burglary was reported to have occurred the evening of March 22 to a church on the 400 block of Keller Avenue, police said in a news release. The next three occurred Sunday evening to churches on the 1000 block of Indiana Avenue, 400 block of North McAree Road, and 1500 block of North McAree Road.
Police say forced entry was made on all of the churches, which were burglarized and vandalized.
The police department's criminal investigations division is investigating.
