1 man dead, 2nd injured in early a.m. Broad Ripple shooting
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indianapolis police say one man has died and a second is in serious condition after being shot in the Broad Ripple entertainment district.
Police say the shootings occurred just before 3 a.m. Monday in an alley off Broad Ripple Avenue behind a hookah lounge.
Police say a 22-year-old man approached officers and told them he had been shot. Officers then found a second, 23-year-old male victim. Police say one of the men died while being rushed to a hospital.
The men's names were not immediately released.
Commander Chris Bailey says it's not clear who was responsible for the shootings.
They occurred about a block away from where seven people were shot in a single incident in 2014 in the area that features bars, nightclubs, restaurants and shops.
